Owner and founder of Erie Dance Theater Company, Nathaniel Johnson has extensive experience as both a dance instuctor and artistic director.
Mr. Johnson attended Du Point Manuel High Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY. After graduation he was awarded a 4 year scholarship to Western Kentucky University where he earned his degree in performing arts with an emphasis in Dance. He moved to Erie in 1992 as the director for the Long’s School of Dance Jazz Department. During this time he was also an instructor for the SPAVA Dance at Cental High School for 7 years.

Kristen Weibel began her dance training in Erie at an early age studying tap, jazz, ballet and acrobatics. Kristen went on to earn her B.A. in Dance Studies with a Business Cognate and Theater Minor from the University of Akron. She performed at Walt Disney World following college graduation.

Dana Borczon has been a proud stay at home mom for 14 yrs. She truly believes that children were built to run and play and that the human body was meant to be in motion. She is a personal trainer, coach and group fitness instructor. She was a member of the ’86 MPS state championship basketball team, a Thiel College cross country individual national qualifier and one of the first women amateur boxers to come from the Lower Eastside Gym. Dana has been immersed in sports her entire life and is now convinced that dancers are among the elite of all athletes. She enjoys training the company dancers as well as the preschooler’s, enabling them to challenge themselves as they gain strength, stamina and confidence.
Danielle is an alumna of Mercyhurst College class of 2010 with a double major in dance and secondary education mathematics. During her college career she had the chance to to study under instructors Tauna Hunter, Michael Gleason, Christina Hay, Noelle Partusch, Mark and Solveig Santillano, and Nathaniel Johnson. This is her third season choreographing at Erie Dance Theater.

Jan Manucci started her dance training at age 8 with Classical Ballet. She has also studied Jazz, Tap, Modern, and Irish Dance. Jan started her Middle Eastern Dance training with Catherine Little in the late 70’s. She did further study with Kitty Holpz and was a member of Kitty’s Middle Eastern Dance Company.

Kelly Stolar is a native of the Buffalo, N.Y. area. Following graduation from Allegheny College with a B.A., Kelly established and operated a voluntary, free dance program for over 10 years in one of Pittsburgh’s inner-city communities. Since moving to Erie in 2000, Kelly has been an instructor at the American College Dance Festival, Kristin’s Dance Company, Mercyhurst University, Erie Dance Conservatory and was the previous Master Class Chair of the Erie Dance Consortium.
Mariah Johnson has been studying dance for 17 years, studying various styles of dance including jazz, tap, ballet, modern, hip-hop, and pointe. Mariah has had the opportunity to perform with Erie Dance Theater’s Company and its predecessor for the past 16 years. She is currently a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Dance.
Michaela Boscaljon began dancing at age two in Michigan. At age nine, she began to study ballet in Erie, Pennsylvania. She trained under many teachers including Lesley Bories-Scalise and the instruction of Sarah Purvis at Erie Dance Conservatory. She was “Clara” in “The Nutcracker”, “The Fairy Godmother” in “Cinderella”, “The Snow Queen” in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Aurora” in “Sleeping Beauty”. She has taken numerous master classes through EDC, at Regional Dance America, as well as summer intensives. She began attending summer intensives at the age of fourteen. This includes, American Ballet Theatre in New York City, Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive, North Carolina Dance Theatre, and Ballet Magnificat. After graduating from high school a year early, she danced in Mississippi as a trainee with Ballet Magnificat. She danced as the lead female role in their spring production, “Merchant and the Thief.” Michaela was promoted to Ballet Magnificats Events Company and began touring nationally and also internationally.
Elizabeth Fischer is currently studying Dance and Communication at Mercyhurst University. She started dancing at three years old at Leslie School of Dance in Elmira, NY. She has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and acro. In 2010 Liz went to Rhee Gold Teaching Conference and has been teaching ever since. Liz is very excited to join the Erie Dance Theatre staff.
